Found some wonderful vintage linens this past week ...my heart pounded when I saw them ..lots of old lace..runners..pillowslips..doily's ..even an old lace window panel ..
I wonder who had collected them . Here are just a few...

I have lots more ..it's a passion of mine ..I collect old baby dresses too .
And where did I find them all you might ask ? . ..at my local THRIFT STORE !

Many folks are talking about this website www.pinterest.com and many are confused as to WHAT and WHY you go there.
I'm no expert on it but I sure am having a blast while there.

Think about your computer for a moment. You are online surfing the web and spot a photo of something that just makes you smile; knocks your socks off; you just have to have etc etc. You usually right click and save it to a file on the computer. You look at it a few times and then next thing you know, you have TONS of images saved with no info attached.You can't find the slip of paper that you wrote down the info that went with the photo.Space is being used on the computer for stuff you just never look at again. CRUD MUFFIN

You create "boards" to "pin" photos onto.
The boards can be called whatever you wish them to be called. Now keep in mind that folks that later on will "follow" your boards, get to see the titles........so think before naming ;)

So you create boards by following the step by step instructions on the page.
You can create as many boards as you wish.

Now it's time to "pin" something onto a board.

There are different ways to do so.
Many folks see an image on Pinterest and REPIN to their board.
Each image showing as a button on the top of it that literally says Repin. You click it and then chose which of your boards you want it pinned onto. Simple as that.
OR
When you first join their is an icon that you attach to your toolbar on your computer. When you are out and about on the web, stumble across that image that you would have normally right clicked and saved to a file on your computer.....you know CLICK the icon......a page pops up and it will show all the images. You find the one you liked and and click where it says PIN IT. You then chose which of your boards you want to pin it onto.
Simple really.
You can pin as many images onto your boards as you wish. There doesn't seem to be a limit(that I've found)

Now when you join Pinterest, you will be able to FOLLOW other boards.
This lets you see what someone has been pinning onto their boards.
There are different ways to do this as well.
Examples :

*You want to join. I send you an invite.
Because I've sent the invite, it will ask if you wish to follow me (I'd LOVE it but really you don't HAVE to if you don't want to) If you opt to FOLLOW, you will be able to see all the pins that I've been busy finding.

*You will notice that you can "find friends" on Pinterest.
They will "search" thru your Facebook friends and let you know which is already a member and ask if you want to follow them. They will do the same from Twitter. You can search thru email address books.
So now you are following any number of folks.
*When you arrive to the Pinterest homepage, it will be showing you the latest PINS that the folks you follow have placed onto their boards. Across the top of the main page it will say:
Pinners you follow
Everything
Videos
Discussions
Gifts

You click any of those topics and a new page opens.

EVERYTHING
This will be showcasing pins from....well......everyone that uses Pinterest.
Its broken down into smaller sections if you want to look.
So you can look at boards that only have to do with DIY CRAFTING; HOME DECOR;FITNESS etc.

VIDEOS
Shows videos that have been pinned

DISCUSSIONS
This seems to be like the "hot topics" being found and pinned by folks.
Pins that lots of folks have been adding to their boards.

GIFTS
Showcases pins of items you can buy.
Different price ranges are shown

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
So you are there......you've made 10+boards. You have been repinning images that your friends have on their boards. You all of a sudden opt to check out the EVERYTHING BOARD and look under PHOTOGRAPHY for example.

A bunch of boards are showing. Tons of pins.
Something catches your eye.
You can REPIN that image to your own board.
You can opt to FOLLOW the person who has this pin.(All of their boards)
You can also just follow that one board

You can LIKE any photo.....it shows that person that someone also liked what was pinned, but it doesn't get pinned to any of your boards.
You can LIKE a photo and repin it to any of your boards
You can COMMENT on any of the photos.
You can tag friends in ANY photo.....this helps friends "see" a pin that you think they might be interested in.

I use Pinterest for keeping track of ideas.
The eye candy and inspiration is endless.
It's not taking up space on my computer. I can go to my boards and look thru them at anytime. I can write details down about any of the photos. It shows where on the web an image was taken. You can click and it will open up the original page....all the blog info etc is all there to read again.

I'm addicted! haha
I like seeing what folks find and pin.
I like the way it gets me feeling creative.
I am finding so many great DIY sites.
Finding so many photography tutorials.

You can find pins/boards on just about ANY TOPIC you can dream up.

So made up a big bucket of coffee and vanilla ..and took myself down to the deck
it was a beautiful warm sunny day ...perfect

I was asked by Twigs to design some patterns for the Mercantile Gatherings Magazine
well I was ..and am ..soo excited to be asked to do this :)
never been in a magazine before ..lol
anyway ..if you purchase the new spring edition ..you should see my freebie pattern in there .
will be designing another one for the summer edition ..and hopefully be a featured designer in the winter one .
I don't have a copy of the magazine yet ..so can't show you the pattern ..but should have a copy in my hands next week .
